Terms & Conditions

1. Detailed Description of Goods and/or Services
 
Hippo and Co (Pty) Ltd. t/a Hipporoo® is a business in the baby products industry that provides parenting accessories.
 
2. Delivery Policy
 
Subject to availability and receipt of payment, requests will be processed within 3 – 5 business days and delivery confirmed by way of email invoice receipt.
 
3. Return and Refunds Policy
 
The provision of goods and services by Hippo and Co (Pty) Ltd. is subject to availability. In cases of unavailability, Hippo and Co (Pty) Ltd. will refund the client in full within 30 days. Cancellation of orders by the client will attract a 20% administration fee.
 
Goods may be returned for a refund or replacement within 21 calendar days of receipt. Goods must be returned in new condition with all packaging and materials unopened/sealed.
 
Refunds of the purchase price of the goods (deducted the direct costs of returning the goods) will be processed within 30 days of the date of the return request, should the above conditions for return be met. The original delivery charge will not be refunded and the cost for returning the parcel is at the expense of the returnee.
Our products undergo rigorous product and quality testing approved by SGS. We do our best to ensure that the products we deliver to you are of a high quality, and are in good working order and without defects.
 
A defect is a material imperfection in the manufacture of a product or any characteristic of a product, which makes the product less acceptable than one would reasonably be entitled to expect in the circumstances. The following, inter alia, will not be regarded as defects and will not entitle you to a return:
  • Faults resulting from normal wear and tear;
  • Damage arising from negligence, user abuse or incorrect usage of the product;
  • Damage arising from a failure to adequately care for the product;
  • Damage arising from unauthorized alterations to the product;
  • Where the specifications of a product, although accurately described on the website and generally fit for its intended purpose, do not suit you.
 
Should you wish to return a product which you believe to be defective, please notify us as soon as reasonably possible after you become aware of the defect or poor quality, but in any event within 6 months after delivery/collection of the product. We will arrange for it to undergo technical evaluation, to determine the cause of the defect.
 
Once we have inspected the product, if the defect is found to be inherent in the product and not caused by the consumer (please see examples above), we will validated your return within 30 days. We will at your choice repair/replace the product (if such repair is possible/we have the same product in stock to use as a replacement) or refund you if that is your preference. If the repair/replacement takes longer than 30 days, we will get in touch with you to see if you would rather receive a refund. The original delivery charge will not be refunded and the cost for returning the product is at the expense of the returnee.
 
4. Customer Privacy Policy
 
Hippo and Co (Pty) Ltd. shall take all reasonable steps to protect the personal information of users. For the purpose of this clause, "personal information" shall be defined as detailed in the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA). The PAIA may be downloaded from:
 
5. Payment Options Accepted
 
Payment may be made via Visa, MasterCard, Diners or American Express Cards or by EFT into the Hippo and Co (Pty) Ltd. bank account, the details of which will be provided on request.
 
6. Card Acquiring and Security
 
Card transactions will be acquired for Hippo and Co (Pty) Ltd. via PayFast (Pty) Ltd. who are the approved payment gateway for all South African Acquiring Banks. PayFast (Pty) Ltd. uses the strictest form of encryption, namely Secure Socket Layer 3 (SSL3) and no Card details are stored on the website. Users may go to www.payfast.co.za to view their security certificate and security policy.
 
7. Customer Details Separate from Card Details
 
Customer details will be stored by Hippo and Co (Pty) Ltd. separately from card details which are entered by the client on PayFast (Pty) Ltd.'s secure site. For more detail on PayFast (Pty) Ltd. refer to www.payfast.co.za.
 
8. Merchant Outlet Country and Transaction Currency
 
The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is South Africa. Transaction currency is South African Rand (ZAR).
 
9. Responsibility
 
Hippo and Co (Pty) Ltd. takes responsibility for all aspects relating to the transaction including sale of goods and services sold on this website, customer service and support, dispute resolution and delivery of goods.
 
10. Country of Domicile
 
This website is governed by the laws of South Africa and Hippo and Co (Pty) Ltd. chooses as its domicilium citandi et executandi for all purposes under this agreement, whether in respect of court process, notice, or other documents or communication of whatsoever nature.
 
11. Variation
 
Hippo and Co (Pty) Ltd. may, in its sole discretion, change this agreement or any part thereof at any time without notice.
